Any aspiring poker player thinks it would be a good idea to take part in a big poker tournament. And nowadays there are various tournaments held regularly and we have to highlight the most prestigious ones.

This is the biggest tournament and dates back to 1970. Surely absolutely every poker player strives for this pinnacle. Before 200, the game was more closed, that is, only professional players could take part, but after a complete surprise victory of a newcomer, the tournament became open and many people started to take part. To play, you just have to pay an entry fee, the amount depending on the event. The winner receives a gold bracelet and big winnings and of course their name goes down in history.

WSOPE

This tournament is part of the WSOP but is designed for players from Europe. Not everyone has the ability to get an American visa in order to participate. But at the same time, any poker fan residing in Europe can take part.  The main prize for the poker player is a gold bracelet.

But here, compared to the World Series, only players aged 18 or over are allowed to play. That’s why there are a lot of young participants at the tournament.

This is one of the most entertaining tournaments at the moment. And that’s not strange, as the founder is American producer Stephen Lipscomb, who launched the show on television.  The show was based on the emotions of the players who took part in it, the behaviour at the gaming table.  The format proved to be popular with viewers. Already in 2002, the world tour was broadcast for the first time, and thousands of viewers watched with interest.  Even allowing for the fact that the entry fee was as high as $100, the number of participants reached 150 people. The winnings were as high as $556,000.

The poker room tournaments, which have no specific dislocation, and can be held in any of the cities without much trouble. The main aspect that attracts players is the massive prize pool – last time the amount was up to $62 million. Not many poker organizers can offer such a sum these days.

European Poker Tour poker tournament

European Poker Tour

Another huge EPT event, this was first held in Barcelona in 2004. And even with around 200 players, it’s still one of the most popular tournaments today.
